Tom: Chicken Killer / Lunch Provider

Tom may seem a mild mannered english cocker spaniel, but he has a dark side – he is a serial killer, of chicken. With at least 4-5 confirmed dead, Tom has left a murderous trail over the length of Thailand. If only we could catch him in the act, and if only we weren’t so hungry. Fortunately several of our neighbors offered to help hide the evidence of Tom’s latest crime by cooking it using a local dutch oven method. And the results were delicious. I would like to say that no animals were harmed in this production, but sadly and fortunately I cannot.

On November 15th we had a tamboon ceremony with monks from a Wat near our new land outside of Khon Kaen. The monks gave a blessing to us and asked the spirits that live on the land to accept us as the new owners of the property. Later our friends planted trees around the lotus pond as Tom and Shampoo jumped and swam and explored their new home.

Tom’s First Flight and Khon Kaen 2562

Made these short After Effects films earlier this year using video from our trips near Khon Kaen. I am testing out Facebook’s upload and video embedding service for the first time.

Honeymoon with the dogs

Yui and I are staying a couple days at a dog friendly resort. Next week I finally will get some time to call home and catch up with friends – and share some great wedding stories.

Tom and Shampoo - taken today on the way to Loei in mid-northern Thailand near the border with Laos.

A Swimming Day with Tom & Shampoo

sham-thumTom & I are english cocker spaniels and it can get really hot sometimes living here in Thailand. – We have too much fur for a Thai dog! Fortunately we get to travel to great places where we can swim and dig in the mud – like the river we went to on Saturday with the Khon Kaen Mountain Bike team. Please watch this movie of our latest adventure. The music is “Gruntilda’s Lair” from the Banjo-Kazooie video game.

Weekend at the beach – Khun Chon’s Pictures

It was very hot or “ron” in Khon Kaen Saturday, the last day of February, so my colleges and I with Tom & Shampoo and the Khon Kaen Mountain Bike Team went to a beach on a river and cooled off. Before the trip we brought lots of toys and gifts for orphans who live near P’Oil. Khun Chong was again there to take the pictures.

The Tom & Shampoo Show – Sexy Shower Video

As busy digging and swimming english cocker spaniels, Tom and I can get really dirty. Fortunately we have access to the I.Q.Dog Spa in Khon Kaen,Thailand. The great thing about Thai home bathrooms is the floors are tiled and have a drain, – it’s like a big shower, and there is lots of room for dog washing, clothes washing, all washing. The opening and close of our video features a Hallo Shampoo TV spot from the 50′s  (click here to see the original TV spot) and Django Reinhardt’s “Lambeth Walk” in the middle.  ( warning: dog nudity – for mature dogs only – no dog under 18 months permitted )

Spaniel Wins Westminster Dog Show

stump

Tom and I admire Stump's long coat but we have to cut ours very short because it is so hot here in Thailand.

tom-on-stump-2As English Cocker Spaniels, Tom and I were excited to hear that Stump, a 10-year-old Sussex Springer Spaniel won the highest honor in Dogdom, the Best in Show at the Westminster Dog Show. Congratulations Stump!

“Stump, officially named Ch. Clussexx Three D Grinchy Glee, might have surprised aficionados, who had their eye on a giant schnauzer, but the crowd clearly preferred the jaunty spaniel. Stump was greeted with deafening applause each time he plodded around the ring.

It was the first time that a Sussex spaniel won the top prize, although the breed, which originated as a hunting companion in England, was among the first to be recognized by the American Kennel Club.”
