A good story today in the Bangkok Post on the end of military rule in Thailand – Wednesday the King swore in a new cabinet based on the elections of last December.
”Thailand faces daunting economic challenges, including a need to restore investment confidence in the country after 16 months of rule by a military-appointed cabinet that was generally deemed anti-foreign trade and investment…The new cabinet will also need to be wary of pushing too fast for a return to power of Thaksin, who has been in self-exile since the coup, and some 110 executives of his defunct Thai Rak Thai Party who have been barred from politics by a Constitution Tribunal ruling in May 2007.“
