On this cold snowy January night here in Cleveland I’ve stumbled across a forgotten recording that melts my winter blues. It’s a short, blury video made with my sister Leslie’s point-and-shoot of us on a mountain overlooking Phi Phi island. It was only 16 months after the Tsunami almost destroyed it and it was her first time there and my third. I was originally on Phi Phi in 2005 as a volunteer and I returned again that year and then in April with Leslie to see it come back to life. I haven’t been back since but I miss it very much. If you haven’t read them, here is where to find my Tsunami stories: The Wrong Guide to Thailand – Tsunami Edition.
